DEWA organizes blood donation campaign

In support of the 'My Blood For My Country'initiative launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has organized, in collaboration with Dubai Health Authority, a blood donation campaign under the theme 'A Drop of Blood Can Save Their Life' at DEWA's headquarters.
His Highness has called upon both government and private organizations to encourage their employees, either nationals or expatriates, to participate in the campaign to provide sick people and victims of accidents at hospitals with their urgently-needed blood.
Organized by DEWA, the campaign attracted a good turn-out from government authorities as well as a big number of DEWA employees.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, praised the humane role highlighted by this campaign and many other ones that fosters loyalty and belonging to one's country through blood donation.
"DEWA aims to disseminate awareness of the importance of donating blood for those who desperately need it. Organizing this campaign accords with our established corporate values and ever-lasting commitment to our social responsibilities, which are clearly reflected by our vision to become a sustainable world-class utility. This will have a positive impact on our society," said Al Tayer.
Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support, praised the good turnout of DEWA employees to donate their blood in response to the initiative of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. DEWA's senior officials led by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, participated in this campaign. "This is a testimony to DEWA's relentless pursuit and responsibility towards society, which arises from a strong belief in the importance of its role in serving society."
