Dhofar Automotive's mid-size sedan earns top points in safety from the Institute for Highway Safety

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded the Chrysler 200, with the TOP SAFETY PICK+ award for 2013 under the Mid-size moderately priced cars category - reinstating the Chrysler promise for absolute safety.

IIHS rates vehicles as good, acceptable, marginal or poor based on performance in a moderate overlap frontal crash, small overlap frontal crash, side impact and rollover, in addition to evaluations of seat/head restraints for protection against neck injuries in rear impacts.

To be declared as winner of the TOP SAFETY PICK+, a vehicle must rate well for occupant protection in at least four of the five evaluations, with no less than acceptable in the fifth test.
