- Oman: Tuesday, May 07 - 2013 at 05:21
Oman's Dhofar Power Co has said its assets will be divided in such a way to hand over its power generation business to a successful bidder of the proposed second independent power project in Salalah, Times of Oman has reported. The move will allow state-owned DPC to confine its business only in power distribution and supply in Dhofar region, said the chief executive of DPC, Ali Issa Ali Shamas. "The company's current power station will be sold to the successful bidder and the same bidder has to add another 300-400MW capacity by 2017," he said. "We have enough power in the southern region till 2017. And DPC will confine its activities to distribution and supply of power," added Shamas.
