Dubai market, DIB shares hit 3.5-year high

The DFM General Index extended its gaining streak by closing 2.42% higher at 1,962.92 points Tuesday, the highest level since Nov. 2009. Dubai Islamic Bank surged 6.67% to hit Dhs2.56. Emaar edged up 2.06% to reach Dhs5.45. The UAE's first developer will start to sell its new townhouse development Reem near the Arabian Ranches, selling townhouses from Dhs988k per object. Shuaa Capital fell 1.72% to Dhs0.57 after the investment bank had to postpone an exraordinary general meeting to April 15 due to a lack of quorum. Around 370m shares were traded, valued at Dhs477.5m.
