DIFC signs agreement with Directorate General of Civil Defence, Dubai

Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the financial and business hub connecting the Middle East, Africa and South Asia's markets with the developed markets of Europe, Asia and the Americas, announced today that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Directorate General of Civil Defence - Dubai.

The agreement was signed by Nabil Mohammed Ramadhan, Acting CEO at DIFC Properties and Colonel Salem Al Mugarrab, Assistant General to the Director General (Fire Safety) at the Department of Civil Defence.

The MoU highlights the importance of strategic partnerships between government entities, and will reinforce the UAE's position as a leading international financial hub for the region.

According to the agreement, the Directorate General of Civil Defence will provide the DIFC community with the highest standards of health and safety training, and information to ensure prompt and effective action in case of emergency.

Nabil Mohammed Ramadhan, Acting CEO at DIFC Properties said, "We welcome this agreement with the Directorate General of Civil Defence - Dubai, which underpins the collaborative relationship between government entities. It also reaffirms our alignment with the vision of the UAE government to provide a safe and secure business environment that allows companies to perform efficiently and effectively."

He added, "The agreement enables us to implement the highest standards of health and safety precautions and exchange up-to-date information with a leading government authority."

Colonel Salem Al Mugarrab, Assistant General to the Director General (Fire Safety) at the Department of Civil Defence, said, "This agreement fulfils the government's vision to develop relationships with strategic partners to provide world class safety training and emergency protocol to the business community."

In addition, the DIFC community will benefit from advanced safety and security training, including evacuation drills, which will help to raise awareness around the measures that should be taken in emergency situations.

The partnership also ensures the presence of Civil Defence teams at high profile events organised by DIFC, to facilitate quick and efficient security action where needed. A series of regular quality checks will also be conducted by the Department of Civil Defence in order to ensure a standardised level of safety across DIFC.
