Director General of Dubai Health Authority meets UAE doctors who are completing their scholarship in Canada

His Excellency Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) met on the sidelines of the 10th International Conference on Medical Regulation, which is taking place in Canada, with UAE doctors who are currently pursuing their post graduate medical degrees.
He highlighted the importance of seeking specialties and subspecialties in medicine which is important to provide the best medical treatment to the population of the UAE.
He said the DHA encourages external scholarship programs because the authority firmly believes in the importance of advanced knowledge and training, which is particularly crucial for the healthcare sector.
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) provides external medical scholarships to medical professionals to pursue their post-graduate specialised medical education.
DHA employees are granted scholarships to undertake their post-graduate education in various highly specialised medical fields abroad and scholarships are given based on the medical needs of the medical community.
Currently 28 medical scholars are abroad pursuing their higher education and 86 have already completed their education and are serving the medical needs of the population in Dubai.
The candidates, who are selected, pursue their higher post graduation education abroad from highly recognised and reputable institutions and upon completion of their program return to the UAE to serve the members of their community.
Al Murooshid said external post-graduate scholarship programme is vital to boost health sector and provide the community with internationally recognised standards of healthcare.
The scholars complete their specialization in various fields such as paediatrics, internal medicine, trauma, orthopaedics, psychiatry, urology, radiology, emergency medicine, nuclear medicine etc.
The scholars go abroad to various countries including Canada, US, Germany, UK, France, Sweden and Australia.
