Directorate of Traffic and Patrols at Abu Dhabi and Al Futtaim Motors join hands

The Directorate of Traffic and Patrols at Abu Dhabi announced signing a partnership agreement with Al-Futtaim Motors to support the activities and initiatives of the Directorate's Together Programme' for 2013, as a Platinum Sponsor for the 29th Gulf Traffic Week.
Al Harthi said, "We believe that traffic safety is a social responsibility of both the private and public sectors. This agreement is an incentive to encourage other companies to initiate the launch of traffic safety related initiatives."
He added, "We, at the Directorate, are keen to exert efforts in order to raise awareness on traffic safety to all segments of the community and tackle road accidents. Traffic accidents in Abu Dhabi were reduced by 19% during 2012, thanks to the Directorate's promising initiatives and programmes, and traffic safety has improved by 34%, since the implementation of the Directorate's plan in 2010."
Al Harthi affirmed, "The Directorate was committed to strengthening relations with all strategic partners at both private and public sectors to sustain its vision. He also indicated that the cooperation with Al Futtaim Motors was highly praised."
Al Harthi added, "This partnership is a ground-breaking initiative as it sustained the activities and social initiatives enrolled with the 29th Gulf Traffic Week, under the logo 'Your Safety Is Our Aim."
Simon Frith commented, "Safe and responsible driving has always been a priority for Al-Futtaim Motors. We have been active on that front for a while and today we are delighted to be partnering with Abu Dhabi Police, Traffic and Patrols Directorate as a Platinum Sponsor. Through this initiative we will help raising awareness about safe driving, and reduce the number of traffic accidents in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and hopefully across all the country. We will do our best to make Gulf Traffic Week a success."
The event will witness four social initiatives including a 'Best Family At Traffic Safety' which aims to raise awareness about traffic safety among family members, push the family forward to initiate the launch of traffic awareness programmes, and create an interactive spirit about traffic safety as well as 'Best School At Traffic Safety' which aims to educate students about traffic safety, by organizing traffic safety related-programmes such as traffic light lessons among other programmes.
Additionally, Best Driver At Road Safety' aims to play a key role in raising awareness about safety traffic issues among youth while a 'Best Labor Camp At Traffic Safety' will work on raising awareness about traffic safety for laborers and addressing traffic problems, by organizing activities and events such as awareness sessions etc.
