DLA Piper strengthens TMT team with telecoms regulatory expert
- Bahrain: Monday, October 08 - 2012 at 11:18
DLA Piper, the global law firm, has made a key appointment to further strengthen its Technology, Media and Telecommunication capabilities in the Middle East with Eamon Holley joining the firm as Senior Legal Consultant. Eamon joins DLA Piper from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in Bahrain where he was the Legal Director for five years.
Eamon Holley's appointment is an innovative and bold move by the firm and demonstrates its commitment to the TMT space and its continuing role as Middle East market leaders. It underlines the firm's understanding of the current issues telecom operators face as well as its ability to respond directly to client needs.
"In the past, telecom operators and suppliers in the region have sought regulatory advice from outside the Middle East, largely due to a lack of on-the-ground expertise, however Eamon's appointment changes the landscape entirely. Clients can now access high-level, regulatory expertise from right here in the region," commented Paul Allen, Head of Intellectual Property and Technology for DLA Piper Middle East.
"This is a true game changer - clients will now have access to advice based on years of regional regulatory expertise, mixed with international training and commercial awareness, which will be invaluable when dealing with a vast array of situations," he continued.
Eamon Holley, Senior Legal Consultant at DLA Piper Middle East, added: "I am very excited to be joining DLA Piper Middle East. It has the largest and the strongest TMT team in the region and is fully integrated with DLA Piper's international TMT team. I am looking forward to working with our clients across the region and beyond, and to delivering innovative commercial solutions to their challenges."
