DM Healthcare announces wide array of initiatives as part of its 'Care Beyond Boundaries' commitment

DM Healthcare, the leading healthcare conglomerate in the Middle East and India, announced further initiatives to strengthen its commitment towards its slogan, 'Care Beyond Boundaries'. Through this commitment, the Group aims to reach people across geographies with the aim to make quality healthcare available to people in the countries of its operation. The announcements were made as part of the concluding event of the Group's 25th anniversary celebrations.

As part of this initiative, DM Healthcare has announced its plans for growing presence in the Gulf and India over the next five years.

The Group announced that $300m (Dhs1.1bn) investment is planned for green and brown field projects and M&A in the GCC and $300m in India over the next five years.

The Group is currently present in four GCC countries and India, offering a diverse and comprehensive set of healthcare offerings, which will be taken further with extensive expansion in the region.

Commenting on its 'Care Beyond Boundaries' initiative, Dr Azad Moopen, Chairman, DM Healthcare, said, "We believe that quality healthcare should have no boundaries. With the core of our operations driven on this motto, DM Healthcare aims to reach people across geographies, socio-economic standing and healthcare offerings. At DM Healthcare, we have deeply imbibed our maxim of 'Care Beyond Boundaries' into all of our undertakings. This maxim comes through in our expansions, where we aim to spread our reach across the GCC and India, as well as beyond. We aim to take our services global, as part of our Vision 2025."

As part of its Silver Jubilee celebrations, DM Healthcare has launched a mascot for its brand, ASTER. Dr ASTER, as the mascot will be called, would take the message of healthy living to people. Through proactive involvement with people across the Middle East and India, Dr Aster aims to educate people on various aspects of healthcare. Playing big on preventive healthcare, the mascot would regularly visit schools, malls, labour camps and various public forums, including media, to spread its message on healthcare through health tips, immunizations, classes, etc.

Commenting on the mascot for ASTER, Dr. Moopen, said, "We are very pleased to introduced Dr. ASTER. Through our mascot, we hope to communicate actively with the community and stress on the importance of preventive healthcare. The mascot is an important part of our dogmas at DM Healthcare and marks the culmination of our 25 years of offering quality healthcare to the people. Dr. ASTER shall be addressing all aspects of healthcare, but main focus shall be Basic Life Support & Road Safety and Accident Prevention."

"Our maxim of 'Care Beyond Boundaries' is taken further through our services, where we offer a holistic healthcare package ensuring that every healthcare requirement is met with. We have diversified our operations to include all healthcare offerings including hospitals, clinics and pharmacies, which are three critical divisions of healthcare. Going beyond boundaries once again, the Group's offerings also meet the needs of people from all socio-economic standings," Dr. Moopen added.

In keeping with this commitment, DM Healthcare has recently launched a network of budget-model clinics titled ACCESS Clinic. Access clinics will predominantly target the primary healthcare needs of the lower income group of the UAE demographics. The first clinic, part of the new network, has opened at Dubai Investment Park (DIP). The network shall soon increase to 10.

With a wider geographical reach, DM Healthcare aims to reach a wide audience offering quality healthcare services to people across nationalities and cultures.

Further taking its services beyond boundaries, DM Healthcare has recently associated with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) and Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), to launch two key public awareness campaigns STRAP and BEAT, that aim to raise awareness on road safety, and educate people how to act on critical emergencies and situations.

As part of the campaigns, DM Healthcare has launched the first Mobile Medical Clinic in UAE, Dr ASTER Mobile, in keeping with its commitment to offer 'Care Beyond Boundaries'. The mobile clinic is well-equipped to offer primary care and basic lab investigation. The vehicle will travel across the country to offer free primary medical care, wherever needed.

The vehicle will also be used in educating people on road safety and emergency first-aid care. The mobile clinic will visit schools, industrial and corporate houses and other public places to spread awareness on road safety, extend free BEAT sessions and various health awareness programmes, including spreading awareness on the ill effects of using tobacco.
