DSCE reviews energy demand management

HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) chaired the 21st regular meeting held at the DSCE's headquarters, in the presence of HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman; Ahmed Butti Al Muhairabi, Secretary General, and members of the Council.
"The DSCE reviewed the new strategy of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) which aims to evaluating, conserving and managing demand for energy and natural resources. ENOC presented its strategic plan for energy conservation, which is in line with the requirements of the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030," said Al Tayer.
"We also discussed a proposed law to regulate petroleum and derivatives trading in Dubai. The Council has been briefed on the first draft, which was proposed by the Department of Legal Affairs of the Government of Dubai to discuss and comment on the law. The Council members also reviewed the progress of the Dubai Integrated Gas Strategy 2030," concluded Al Tayer.
The Council reviewed the progress for the Dubai Global Energy Forum 2013, which will be hosted from 15-17 April 2013 under the theme 'Clean Energy for Sustainable Development'.
DGEF 2013 will be attended by government officials, VIPs, decision makers, CEOs of leading companies, scientists, researchers, and analysts from all over the world, to discuss clean and alternative energy resources, peaceful use of nuclear energy, current and future policies, investments opportunities, and technologies and regulatory framework.
The Executive Committee of the Emirates Energy Award (EEA) has extended the date for receiving nominations until June 30, 2013, to facilitate maximum possible entries.
