Du announces Dhs651m Q2 net profit

UAE telecoms operator Du has posted a 57% increase in second-quarter net profit as mobile data revenue increased and the number of post-paid mobile customers grew, Gulf News has reported. Net income reached Dhs325.5m in the three months to June 30, after paying royalty fees of Dhs325.5m, up from Dhs207.2m in the same period last year. Mobile data revenue jumped 84.8% year-on-year to Dhs278m in the second quarter. The total number of mobile subscribers rose 3.5% by June 30 to 5.7 million, compared with the previous quarter, and 20% higher than the a year before.
