Du extends SIM card deadline in UAE

Dubai-based telecom operator Du has extended the deadline for registering SIM cards, the National has reported. Staff at the Du centre in the Mall of the Emirates were this morning telling customers that the deadline had been extended for a further three months until January 17, it reported. Confusion had arisen over when the deadline was after both Etisalat and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) both said they would extend the original October 16 cut off date for three months.
