- PRESS RELEASE
Du has announced the launch of Datamena, a carrier-neutral transit and content hub that provides an interconnection platform for international carriers, content and service providers in the Middle East.
Based in the UAE, Datamena presents a significant opportunity for customers looking to expand upon their global footprint, and will act as a growth accelerator for digital businesses both in the UAE and the Gulf region.
Datamena's platform simplifies business for carriers, operators and content providers by consolidating infrastructure and reducing IP costs, giving them cost-effective access to our region and beyond.
"As more people adopt digitally-enabled lifestyles, carriers and content and service providers look to optimise their data storage and connectivity capabilities to improve customer experience in the region. Our solutions enable our clients to expand their footprint from a location where some of the fastest-growing markets in the world intersect." said Osman Sultan, Chief Executive Officer, Du.
"The introduction of Datamena extends the UAE's position as the region's primary centre for people, logistics, finance and trading, to the digital space," he added.
"The hub is already expanding and we have a substantial number of customers and partners already, who are using our tailored solutions and services to deliver maximum value to their customers," added Sultan.
Solutions presented by Datamena include:
o Bandwidth services, to improve customer experience through a wide variety of reliable, resilient solutions.
o Colocation, which will reduce operational expenses and allow businesses to connect with more customers, by hosting through world class data centre facilities.
o IP Transit, offering high-speed connectivity from Tier 1 providers who offer low latency, with maximum reliability.
Datamena also hosts the newly-launched UAE Internet Exchange (UAE-IX), a TRA initiative that interconnects global and regional network operators and content providers. The UAE-IX is managed by the world's largest internet exchange operator, Germany's DE-CIX.
