Dubai airport terminals to have 40 e-Gates

  • United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, October 16 - 2012 at 02:18

Dubai's general directorate of residency and foreigners affairs (GDRFA) is set to install 40 Smart e-Gates across Dubai airport terminals to ease passenger entry and exit, Gulf News has reported. The system, equipped with retinal scan using a high-accuracy camera, will eliminate the need for the eye scan and e-Gate card currently issued by the GDRFA. "Passengers across Dubai terminals will finalise their entry or exit procedures within four seconds," Capt. Khalid Al Filasi, acting director general of the IT department at the GDRFA, told the daily.
