Dubai bourse soars as over 600m shares change hands

The Dubai market gained 1.04% and hit the highest level since March 5 2012, closing at 1,745.17 points. Trading volumes also rose to a 10-month high as 610m shares were traded, valued at Dhs668.1m. However, market breadth indicated first sign of an overheating as 15 shares rose, while 14 declined in value. Emaar gained 0.50%, district cooling specialist Tabred hit a limit up to close at Dhs1.48. Banks performed weaker. Shuaa Capital (down 3.69%), Gulf Finance House (off 3.56%) and Commercial Bank of Dubai (3.33% lower) prevented the DFM gauge from reaching out for more.
