- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC) shared insights on women empowerment in the UAE during its participation at the recently concluded exclusive forum for women business leaders from the Middle East and Gulf States, held in line with the three-day grand opening celebration of the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai.
DBWC President Raja Al Gurg was one of the table leaders in the roundtable discussion on the topic 'Paying it Forward: Encouraging Others to Lead', while she also served as panellist in a discussion that was led by Kathleen Matthews, Corporate Officer and EVP, Global Communications and Public Affairs, Marriott International, Inc. and included international design icon and Urban Zen founder Donna Karan; Vital Voices CEO Alyse Nelson; and JW Marriott Vice President & Global Brand Manager Mitzi Gaskins.
Raja Al Gurg said: "Some of the most powerful businesswomen in the Arab world took part in the forum, making it an excellent venue to share experiences and best practices, and identify new ways to address various challenges. Dubai Business Women Council extended full support to the forum as it strongly complemented our ongoing efforts to open new communication channels among women leaders in the region and encourage greater cooperation towards realising our mission of empowering women to be more productive and participative members of the society. We will build on this successful initiative to further expand our collaboration with JW Marriott and create more networking opportunities for businesswomen in the region."
Founded in 2002, DBWC motivates women to be productive members of the society, while encouraging role models to rise up from the ranks and inspire other women around the world, especially in the Arab region, to discover their true potential. DBWC organises the high-profile monthly event 'Network Majlis' to provide information about the latest knowledge, skills and best practices for women entrepreneurs and leaders (www.dbwc.ae).
