Dubai Chamber hosts series of best-practices seminars for Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award 2013

After the successful launch of the 7th cycle of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Performance Program 2013, the exciting journey was continued through the best practices seminars which gave the participants the opportunity to discuss challenges faced in applying for the Business Award under the framework of the Program, and to exchange ideas and experiences on business excellence.

The seminars were held in Dubai head office and JAFZA Branch on 13th, 20th and 27th February. Participants came from a vast number of organizations interested in the pursuance of excellence as well as prominent speakers from the past winning companies who highlighted and shared their best-practices and standards in achieving exceptional performance during the 6th cycle of the prestigious annual award.

The topics discussed were Outperformance through leadership and strategy - Al Faraa Group; Sustaining market share through robust talent management - Paramount Computer Systems FZ LLC; Achieving customer satisfaction through streamlined operations - Dubai Refreshments Company, Pepsi; Aligning corporate social responsibility through leadership - Dubai Medical College for Girls; Embedding corporate governance in the operational processes - Commercial Bank of Dubai; and achieving customer-driven innovation - Kanoo Travel.

The objective of the seminars was not only to familiarise UAE businesses with the principles of the improved Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Performance Model but also to give applicant companies the opportunity to learn from the best practices of the past winning companies, highlight the value-add in adopting excellent business practices within their organisations and to extol the benefits of participating in the prestigious Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award 2013.

Dr. Belaid Rettab, Senior Director, Economic Research and Sustainable Business Development, Dubai Chamber, stated that the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award is the highest honour of its kind in the region. It allows participating organisations to gain experience through self-analysis and align their management practices with world-class standards.

The seminars also highlighted the importance of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Club which encourages interaction, learning and cooperation among its members while developing business competitiveness, adopting global best practices and elevating their business reputations worldwide.

Held annually under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award is the region's most prestigious business award

initiated by Dubai Chamber to support and reward the efforts of UAE-based businesses contributing to the economic development of the country.

Over the past seven years since its inception, the award has assisted many companies to meet international standards and achieve excellence. It helps participating organisations gain experience through self-analysis and align their management techniques with world-class practices while benefiting from other participants' experiences in institutional performance.
