Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board members stressed on enhancing bilateral ties between the business communities of Dubai and Mozambique during a reception hosted in honour of H.E. Presenting an overview of Dubai economy, H.E. Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman, Dubai Chamber, stated that the leading drivers of the emirate's economic growth included trade, tourism, logistics and financial services as these sectors were continuing their high-growth performance and attracting more investors to the emirate.

He further stated that Dubai Chamber as part of its new strategy to reach out to untapped and promising markets of the world and to promote its members' competitiveness in overseas business destinations is currently concentrating on the African Continent and is all set to open its representative office in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

H.E. Al Ghurair informed the visiting delegation that Dubai offers rewarding investment opportunities for African companies in the lucrative infrastructure, construction, trade, tourism, logistics and financial services sectors.

The Chairman of Dubai Chamber invited Mozambican companies to come to Dubai and benefit from its vibrant investment environment as the emirate is a gateway to the regional as well as Southeast Asian markets, he said.

On his part, President Armando Emilio Guebuza urged his delegation to explore the various investment opportunities offered by the emirate and to learn from Dubai's extensive experience in foreign trade. He also called upon them to seek inspiration from the Dubai model which he said is now well-known for its business acumen and quality of service delivered.

His Excellency also requested Dubai Chamber to pursue its members to invest in Mozambique's large reserves of natural gas and mineral resources including coal, gold and precious stones as well as the country's high investment potential banking and tourism sectors which Dubai companies excel in.

On Dubai business representatives' plea to offer more support to coal mine investors in Mozambique, H.E Guebuza lauded their efforts in boosting the sector while urging them to expand their investment activities in his country.
