  • PRESS RELEASE

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Centre for Responsible Business has announced the launch of its new online directory of case studies in its latest edition of 'CSR Al Youm', published this week.

The newsletter highlights the new online directory, found on the main Dubai Chamber website, which profiles regional and international businesses with a presence in Dubai that are doing innovative work in corporate social responsibility.

Dr. Belaid Rettab, Senior Director, Economic Research and Sustainable Business Development Sector, Dubai Chamber, said, "The directory is a useful tool for companies to search for examples of best practice. Businesses can discover how other companies are implementing CSR and sustainability schemes and so with this guidance they can initiate their own programmes."

This edition of 'CSR Al Youm' also highlights the idea of Creating Shared Value, which was first introduced to the business community during the Centre's Dubai Dialogue conference held in May. This concept suggests that private companies can enhance their competitive advantage while at the same time improving the societies in which they operate.

Meanwhile, the date for the upcoming Dubai Dialogue Corporate Governance Conference was announced in the newsletter. This event, which will focus on corporate governance and its importance in creating value for a business, is set to take place on November 28th 2012. It will also look at emerging trends in this area and how a company's top management team is vital in guiding organisational strategy and risk management.

The Centre for Responsible Business was established in 2004 by Dubai Chamber to foster corporate integrity and to promote Dubai as the region's gateway for global commerce by promoting transparency and rule of law. It is the leading centre of expertise in business ethics and corporate social responsibility in Dubai.
