The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) hosted a special ceremony today, Thursday 29th November 2012 to celebrate the 41st National Day of the United Arab Emirates as employees, brokers and investors gathered at the DFM trading floor to honor the occasion. This official ceremony concludes a full week of heritage and art activities that reflected the rich history of the United Arab Emirates.

The exchange building and trading floor have been decorated with the UAE flags and this year's slogan "Spirit of the Union". Today's event was covered live by TV stations reporting from the trading floor.

In collaboration with the Dar Al Ber Society, 10 students performed the UAE national song whilst the national anthem was played prior to the beginning of the trading session in the presence of DFM employees along with investors and brokers.

As part of its ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, DFM offered the UAE 'Productive Families' the opportunity to display and sell their products through "The Handcraft Fair" held in the DFM Public Gallery. Additionally, the exchange hosted an exclusive art exhibition showcasing the artworks of the talented Emirati, Ali Kashwani, renowned for his unique portrayals of the distinguished rulers.

The DFM also organized "The Seven Emirates' Competition" as employees were asked to answer 10 questions about the history of the UAE. Cash prizes were handed over to winners during the official ceremony. During the week, the Public Gallery was also transformed into an Arabic Majlis style theater showing short films about the history and heritage of the UAE.

Commenting on this, Essa Kazim said: "As we honor the 41st national day of the UAE, we would like to congratulate their highnesses, the rulers of the emirates and the people of the UAE. This occasion is treasured in our hearts as it marks the day when the founding fathers of our country joined hands and united efforts and resources for the greater good and welfare of the UAE people. As DFM reaffirms its firm commitment to social responsibility, most of our activities were focused on supporting the UAE Productive Families with the handcraft fair, encouraging the talent of young Emiratis and celebrating the rich heritage of our beloved country".
