Hotel room rates in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region have jumped this summer compared with last year, Australian tourism website HotelsCombined.com has reported. The study showed rates surged 57% in Dubai, 44% in Madinah, 43% in Sousse in Tunisia, and 25% in Manama during the period between June and August. "Based on average hotel rates aggregated by top travel websites throughout June, July and August, the majority of Mena destinations experienced a spike in price this summer when compared with the 2011 summer season," the report said.
