  • United Arab Emirates: Monday, October 15 - 2012 at 16:33
  • PRESS RELEASE

Sultan Butti bin Mejren, the Director General of Dubai Land Department in Dubai executed the first property transaction through the e-Smart Travel Estate Pack (E-STEP).

The Director General conducted this transaction in the presence of the seller and the buyer by entering the complete data of the transaction in the E-STEP system supported with advanced e-solutions and linked to the systems and database of the LD. The title deed was issued within 30 minutes.

"The LD has developed this new service to accelerate and facilitate the completion of the sale and purchase transactions for real estate investors, either they are in the United Arab Emirates or abroad," said Bin Mejren. This new service is the first of its kind in the world related to property registration.

Both, the seller and buyer expressed their admiration and appreciation of the LD for saving the time and effort as most real estate investors have busy schedules and appointments and might be unable to visit LD headquarter. The department reacted to such circumstance and thus developed its e-STEP.

The DG of LD said the smart e-STEP provides various real estate transactions such as sale, mortgage and leasing. The clients can request the service through the official website of the department, and then use the e-Appointment system to book appointment that suits their own time.
