Arabtec gains on new contract in Doha's Msheireb Downtown project

The Dubai stock market made a modest post-National Day comeback as the DFM General Index closed 0.22% higher at 1,611.45 points. Arabtec Construction jumped 1.75% to reach Dhs2.32. Earlier in the day, Arabtec said it won a QR2.3bn ($632m) contract for the complete execution of the phase 2 of Msheireb Downtown, 31-hectare development in the heart of Doha. Shares of Emaar added half a percentage point to hit Dhs3.78. Shuaa Capital dived 5.56% to Dhs0.527. Shuaa said in an e-mailed statement it appointed Houssem Ben Haj Amor CFO. Amor has been Shuaa's Finance Director since November 2011, supervising the finance departments of the bank and its subsidiaries. He joined the Shuaa in 2007 from Société Générale in Tunisia and prior to that, worked for Moore Stephens and Arthur Andersen.
