  • PRESS RELEASE

In a move to encourage recycling in its communities, Dubai Properties Group (DPG), a member of Dubai Holding, has partnered with Union Paper Mills (UPM) to introduce recycling centers within four of its residential communities across Dubai.

The recycling centers currently cater to over 60,000 residents across DPG's Built to Lease communities including Shorooq & Ghoroob Mirdiff, Layan, Al Khail Gate as well as DPG's headquarters.

The bins in each community have been categorized to recycle paper, aluminum, plastic and glass and will be filtered on a weekly basis by UPM, one of the largest recycling companies in the UAE.

The partnership is part of DPG's corporate responsibility (CR) platform "Responsible Living", which was launched in 2011. As part of the programme, DPG facilitates events and joint initiatives with authorities and non-profit organisations to promote different aspects of living responsibly in and around the community.

DPG plans to introduce additional recycling bins across its communities as part of the developer's ongoing efforts to raise awareness around environmental issues.
