Dubai Properties Group welcomes GEMS Cambridge International School to The Villa

Dubai Properties Group, a member of Dubai Holding, has announced that it has signed a MoU to open a GEMS Cambridge International School at The Villa in DUBAILAND. This welcome addition to The Villa development is part of DPG's ongoing strategy to enhance community facilities at many of its residential developments throughout Dubai, and is expected to open in the next 18 months.
Aside from quality residential living, The Villa is also set to welcome a community centre which will complement the variety of facilities already in place such as a playground and nursery.
Speaking about the announcement, Sahar Al Ansari, Director of Real Estate Management at DPG, said: "We are pleased to welcome GEMS Cambridge International School to The Villa community. The school has a very impressive reputation in Dubai and will be a great benefit to residents in the development and surrounding suburbs."
Jay Varkey, Senior Director of GEMS Education, said: "We at GEMS are very glad to be offering the community, in and around The Villa, our GEMS Cambridge International School. The academic outcome from our British Curriculum schools has been outstanding in 2012, up to 20% higher than the UK national average. We look forward to offering a quality education to the community for many years to come."
The GEMS Cambridge International School at The Villa is expected to accommodate approximately 3,000 students from the ages of 3 to 18. The 31624m2 school will include a 600 seat performance space/ exhibition/ examination hall, music classrooms, extensive sports facilities, a science discovery zone and campus-wide wireless, amongst other facilities.
GEMS Cambridge International School provides students with an outstanding international education, emphasising critical and compassionate thinking, a life-long love of learning and an informed participation in both the local and global community.
