The government of Dubai has ruled out plans to privatise the electricity and water sector, Gulf News has reported. "If we allow privatisation for this sector the prices of electricity and water would be more expensive," said finance minister and president of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He also said the government is not looking to involve the private sector in Dewa's projects so far.
