The award ceremony, which also marks the 10th anniversary of Dubai SME, will honour those exceptional individuals and organisations who have aided in the development of entrepreneurs in the UAE and the Arab World.
The ceremony will also witness a presentation of Dubai SME's achievements in supporting entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs over the last decade.
"I would like to thank His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his continuous support to the SME sector and his keenness to make Dubai an ideal hub for start-up businesses through various initiatives, incentives and facilities. The achievements of Dubai SME are the result of His Highness's directions to leverage the sector and make it a major focus of economic development in Dubai," said Abdul Baset Al Janahi, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai SME.
Al Janahi added, "We are pleased to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Dubai SME along with honouring those who support small and medium enterprises across the Arab World for the first time. Dubai SME is proud of the initiatives and services we provide to the business community, which are highly regarded locally and regionally."
The categories for the Arab World awards include Best Higher Education Institution Promoting Entrepreneurship, Best Mentor Network, Best Entrepreneurship Development Fund for Women, Best Entrepreneurship Development Fund, Most SME-Friendly Bank, and Best Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative in Entrepreneurship Development, as well as an award for the Best Organisation Supporting SME Initiatives in the UAE.
The entrepreneurial awards for UAE SMEs are in the Manufacturing, Services, Trading, Home-based Business in Dubai (Intelaq) and the Entrepreneurial Personality of the Year (male and female) categories.
