Dubai Taxi opens 'Union Rest House' for taxi drivers

The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has recently opened the 'Union Rest House' at its Head Office in Muhaisna, in the context of the 41st UAE National Day celebrations, in a bid to raise the satisfaction of taxi drivers, which in turn would step up the DTC's operational efficiency and contribute to customers satisfaction rating.

To this effect an official function was held in the presence of Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA Licensing Agency cum Head of the Committee Supervising the DTC, and Yousef Mohammed Al-Ali, CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation, in addition to Directors, Managers, employees and drivers of the DTC.

Al-Ali reiterated DTC's attention to launching numerous initiatives & projects to up the satisfaction of taxi drivers and give them full qualifying courses before deploying them on taxi driver in an effort to groom them as DTC ambassadors to the public.

The move clearly echoes the policy & strategy of the DTC in realizing its revamped vision of 'Pioneers in Passenger Transport Service'.

The Rest House receives every day hordes of taxi drivers and staffs and the garden has been fitted with comfortable seats for drivers at the backdrop of a fountain & colourful lights, adding glamorous night lighting.

The facility has also got gorgeous landscaping views dotted with date trees, a restaurant offering daily hot dishes, and a stage equipped with sound systems for staging various events in order to enhance the interaction between employees, break the daily routines and indulge in a social atmosphere.

The DTC is keen on providing all means of comfort for more than 8000 taxi drivers hailing from 31 nationalities deployed on shifts system, in addition to a host of programs & competition such as soccer & cricket tournaments between franchise companies.

It also holds excursions for drivers and employees in a bid to foster the bonds between them, in addition to several lectures & educative programs held at DTC Drivers Training & Qualifying Center.

The DTC is also keen on honouring drivers who succeed in achieving the targets set by offering them gifts, rewards, and certificates of apprecation among others.
