- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Trade, the premier cross-border trade facilitator under Dubai World, announced that it has started the process of finalising the list of nominees for the 5th E-Service Excellence Award (ESEA) according to the ESEA criteria.
The E-Service Excellence Award is an annual award organized by Dubai Trade to encourage 'e-transformation' in trade and logistics and to recognize the most active online performers throughout the year.
Currently in its fifth year, the award will be given to companies in nine categories: importers, exporters, re-exporters, shipping agents (container and general cargo), freight forwarders, clearing agents, hauliers and Free Zone Company of the year.
Commenting on the award, His Excellency Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, Chairman of Dubai Trade, said, "Celebrating five years of distinction, the E-Service Excellence Award has become an institution that is truly driving widespread adoption of environmentally-friendly and cost-efficient electronic services among the national trading and logistics community. At the same time it advances the higher cause of the UAE to be a leader among world nations in facilitating regional and international trade. We are glad today to see the level of enthusiasm generated by the award in the trading community and we look forward to see every member company in future reaping the benefits of fully-digital cross-border trading."
Eng. Mahmood Al Bastaki, CEO, Dubai Trade, said, "Dubai Trade has over the years been diligent in building and continuously developing fast, secure and robust solutions to support online submissions, processing and payments related to the various procedures involved in cross-border trading. However, what has given us the edge in providing innovative and easy-to-use e-services is our clients, who we consult over every step we take to ensure that their needs and requirements are met and their advice is reflected in the way we offer and enhance the e-services. We simply believe that our success is theirs. The E-Service Excellence Award is a way to celebrate the success of this partnership and reward our users for their e-services usage throughout the year."
The ESEA was launched in 2008 when it awarded the best performer of its e-service the 'e-Token'. In 2009 the ESEA awarded the 5 best performers in the Rosoom e-payment service. ESEA 2010 was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and was attended by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, who awarded the best six performers from the diverse trading and supply chain companies.
In 2011 the event continued to be held under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, that year the ESEA recognised and honoured eight of Dubai Trade's customers that posted the best performance in adopting e-services and e-solutions offered on the portal.
The 5th ESEA, which has gathered a stronger and wider support from government entities and trade and Logistics agencies, is sponsored by a joint Platinum Sponsor: Network International & Emirates NBD, and by two Gold Sponsors: FedEx and Al Futtaim Logistics.
