Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has extended the Green Bus pilot project for a year following its success, Gulf News has reported. The bus uses eco-friendly technology such as biofuel, solar power for lightings, LED light solutions, recycled tyres and organic interiors. "We will continue with the experiment for another year to study different aspects of the 'Green Bus'. We want to make sure everything works out well. We are setting up plans to see how well we can implement the same technologies in the rest our fleet," said Abdul Mohsin Ebrahim Younes, CEO of RTA's Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector. The project is being implemented in cooperation with SS Lootah Group and is supported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
