Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi names experienced hotel industry veterans in top leadership positions

Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi, the iconic luxury 5-star business hotel planned to open in the UAE capital in the first quarter of this year, has announced the appointment of hospitality veterans Simone Stanco, B. Pathmanathan and André Brinckman as the Director of Food and Beverage, Executive Chef and Director of Engineering respectively to help spearhead the hotel operations in its launch phase.
André Brinckman, meanwhile, will oversee the hotel's engineering operations and maintenance, in order to ensure a world-class standard of rooms, outlets and public areas.
Announcing the appointment, Scott Mawhinney, General Manager, Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi, said: "We are very excited about the team we have been able to bring together in this important launch phase, as they will help define the way our hotel delivers the highest quality of services to our guests and the local residents of Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
"Simone, B. Pathmanathan and André bring a wealth of knowledge and professional international hotel and hospitality expertise to their respective positions and their energy, creativity and leadership will be invaluable in helping us implement our strategies and achieve our objectives."
An Italian national, Simone Stanco joins Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi from the Movenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach, Dubai, where he was the Pre- and Post-opening F&B Director. He has also held senior F&B positions in leading hotel chains across Kazakhstan, California, London and Germany and has spent nearly two decades in the hospitality industry. Simone has a degree in hotel management, is qualified as a wine sommelier and specialized in hotel procurement.
Chef B. Pathmanathan, a Malaysian national, has 20 years' industry experience and joins Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi from the Radisson Hotel Brunei Darussalam, where he was the Executive Chef for the past three years. An expert in fusing Western, Asian, Malay and Pacific Island cuisine, Chef Pathmanathan has experience in Fiji, Oman, Samoa and Malaysia, with specialization in restructuring, rebranding and restaurant openings in Fiji, Samoa, Oman and Brunei.
André Brinckman is a native of Australia and brings nearly 30 years' engineering and project management experience to his new position. Moving to Abu Dhabi from doing redevelopment projects in Vietnam, his varied international experience also spans new construction, design, engineering maintenance and renovation projects in Dubai, the Maldives, Thailand and Australia.
