E-commerce hubs: Close to half of 114 analyzed E-commerce portals in the Arab world are headquartered in UAE and Egypt

New research and analysis by the Arab Advisors Group analyzes 114 selected e-commerce portals in the MENA region. Not everything is rosy: 28 e-commerce players that the Arab Advisors Group analyzed in 2010 are no longer operational representing 27% of the 102 portals analyzed back in 2010.
The new report, "E-commerce portals in the Arab World 2012" was released to Arab Advisors Group's media and telecoms strategic research service subscribers on September 3, 2012. The report also provides insights into e-commerce usage in the region based on Arab Advisors major surveys.

Cash on Delivery and Bank/Wire transfer or cheques options followed with 54% and 47% of portals, respectively." Mr. Omar Ja'abari, Arab Advisors Group research analyst wrote in the report.
"84% of portals offered content in the English language. Arabic enabled portals followed with 48% of portals" Mr. Salah Al Omari, Arab Advisors Group research analyst wrote in the report.
