The first edition of SPE Artificial Lift Conference and Exhibition takes place in Bahrain

Delegates from more than 20 countries are set to flock to Bahrain to share knowledge and experiences related to artificial lift.

As part of its ongoing efforts to spread knowledge among oil and gas engineers operating in the region, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is launching the first artificial lift conference in the region, the SPE Artificial Lift Conference and Exhibition, which will take place in Bahrain between 27-28 November 2012 at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel.

The event will be inaugurated by H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance, Minister in charge of Oil and Gas affairs, Chairman of National Oil and Gas Authority, Kingdom of Bahrain, who will be also delivering a keynote speech at the event.

The first edition of the conference is held under the theme of "people, technology, and equipment", and will focus on how technologies can further the development of artificial lift as well as gain insight into the future needs of the Middle East producers that are not being addressed with the existing technology.

Nader Al Douhan, conference chairman, said "We are confident that this conference will stimulate innovation and excellence for artificial lift in the Middle East, and we are certain that this event will become one the preeminent Artificial Lift platforms for sharing and learning in the world."

The conference's programme will cover topics like the present and the future of artificial lift in the Middle East, artificial lift in 3D, and the challenges related to the implementation of artificial lift technologies.

The event is set to attract delegates representing more than 40 companies from 20 countries, which is set also to be a platform for networking and exchanging ideas and experiences related to the artificial lift between the industry peers.
