eGovernment Authority participates as strategic partner in Middle East's Social Media Masters Forum 2012

As part of its sustained support; adoption of technology initiatives and new media industry; as well as its steadfast goal of partnering with civil society institutions, the eGovernment Authority (eGA) participates as the strategic partner in the Middle East's Social Media Masters Forum 2012.

Held in Bahrain between 12th and 24th September 2012, the event involves the participation of 14 specialized international speakers and over 20 social media experts in the Middle East, along with the expected attendance of more than 150 participants.

The event has been created by the Social Media Club Bahrain (SMC) aiming to strengthen social media culture; encourage the usage of social media marketing tools and channels on regular basis by passing through various steps and levels; as well as educate the public on how to take advantage of such knowledge.

"We strongly believe in the eGovernment Authority the importance of social communication tools which are considered as one of the key means of new media, that hold a predominant position in the communication world with different entities at different levels, compared to various forms of conventional media. Our strategic partnership in the organizing of Social Media Masters Forum 2012 Bahrain is to highlight the importance of enhancing corporation with civil society organizations for the collective promotion of initiatives. Such initiatives focus on developing and enriching the qualifications of professionals specialized in several technological areas," stated Mr. Feras Ahmed Director of Service Delivery and Channel Enhancement Department at the eGovernment Authority.

"The eGovernment aspires that the forum will have a positive impact on community support to take advantage of developments made in the area of social networking across the globe," added Mr. Feras.

The forum will host international experts from large companies in the field of social media such as Facebook, BlackBerry maker Research in Motion (RIM); National Institute of Social Media, Zain Bahrain, Mindshare, TOP, Netizency and ShowGizmo.

These experts will discuss the aspects of how to build a strong and effective media presence in social networking that will serve as a powerful branding tool in order to encourage and promote businesses and organizations.

The forum will also assist companies (who wish to modernize their marketing strategies) to enable them to compete better with similar brands, as well as develop strong social media presence that will serve as a powerful branding tool for their business.

"This forum is one of the largest events related to Middle East's forums of social media in 2012, where international experts and professionals will participate to make presentations with an aim of benefiting from social media in order to become an integral part of business in interacting with customers, promoting brands and generating sales in the Middle East," stated Mr. Ali Sabkar, Social Media Club Bahrain President and Chairman of the Organizing Committee.

Sabkar pointed out that the forum is organized in association with Takatof for Events and Conference Management and Legend PAPI, and will host five events as follow: Social Media Masters Conference (12th, September- Mövenpick Hotel), Social Media Masters Business Seminar (13th, September- Mövenpick Hotel), Facebook Marketing Masters Workshop (15th, September- BIBF), Social Corporate Blogging Workshop (22nd, September- BIBF), and Events Camp Middle East (24th, September- Al Ayam Media Center).

Bahrain's experience will be transferred to eight countries in the Middle East region, alongside 15 specialized workshops to be organized on social media theme.

Social Media Club Bahrain is part of the international SMC, it holds broad monthly meetings and events for all community segments in order to raise awareness of media and social marketing as well as information and communications technology; spread and consolidate the proper use of social media culture in such a rewarding way for the community as a whole.
