eGovernment Authority strategic partner for 4th eLearning Conference

In an aim to build an information society, the eGovernment Authority (eGA) had participated as a strategic partner in the 4th eLearning Conference. Organized by the University of Bahrain (UoB), the event is held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Education and Training Development Committee.

eGovernment Authority CEO Mr. Mohammed Ali AlQaed confirmed the authority's keenness in supporting the initiatives related to the use of technology as well as strengthening it in various fields.

"Education is without a doubt one of the top priorities as it has become the cornerstone in building the knowledge in economy. This strategic partnership is in line with the eGovernment Authority's efforts in changing the education's traditional concept to an education that is based on technology use," noted AlQaed.

"Based on Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030, plans of implementing comprehensive projects in the country require the establishment of a knowledge society - through the adoption of eLearning and converting the educational process from indoctrination to the development of creativity and interaction skills. This will prepare a generation of educated citizens capable of using the technical skills and being up-to-date with the latest trends in the digital world," he further added.

The authority also participated at the exhibition to showcase its latest services available on the various channels. Furthermore, a group of European and Arab experts took part at the conference, in addition to the overseas education officials from the GCC, where they discussed 110 paper-works in parallel sessions related to eLearning.

The conference aimed at sharing experiences of various universities in the eLearning field, encouraging the creativity and knowledge exchange, as well as enhancing Bahrain's technological expertise in technology.
