Egypt saw 10.2% more tourists in January

According to data by Egypt's Central Agency for Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS), the number of tourists in January rose 10.2% to 900,000, compared with 800,000 recorded in the same month in 2011, Ahram has reported. The majority of tourists came from Western Europe, followed then by Eastern Europeans and then tourists from the Middle East, spending a total of 13.8 million nights in the country, 30.3% more than in January of last year, but 9% less than in January 2011.
