According to data by Egypt's Automotive Marketing Information Council (AMIC), passenger car sales in the country saw an increase of 8% in 2012, Ahram has reported. Egypt's biggest-listed automobile assembler, GB Auto's Hyundai maintained its position as market leader in 2012, with a market share of around 29%, despite labour unrest in South Korea in August and September of that year, which hindered supply to the automobile giant.
