Egypt says February tourist numbers rose 12%

According to data by Egypt's official statistics agency CAPMAS, the number of tourists visiting the country in February of this year rose 12% over the corresponding month a year earlier, Ahram has reported. A total of 845,000 tourists visited Egypt in February, slightly higher than the 753,000 who visited the country in February 2012, but still significantly lower than the one million who came in February 2010. Western Europe provided the highest number of tourists in February, followed by Eastern Europe and the Middle East, the figures showed.
