Egypt has not asked IMF to increase loan

Hisham Ramezm, the governor of the Egyptian central bank has said the government has not asked the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to increase a $4.8bn loan, Reuters has reported. The governor said that Egypt could still request an increase of $1bn on the loan if the maturity period was extended to more than 30 months from the 22 months agreed last November.
