Egypt to ink IMF loan before year-end

Egyptian finance minister Momtaz El-Said has said an agreement on a loan deal of more than a $4.8bn is likely to be signed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by the end of 2012, Ahram has reported. "We are in the technical discussion phase with the IMF," El-Said said. An IMF delegation is currently examining the financial results of the last fiscal year in addition to Egypt's governmental projections for the current and coming fiscal years against the impact of the economic reform programme, the minister said.
