New Egypt, Sudan road to open September 20

The Egyptian government has announced a new road linking the country to its southern neighbour Sudan is set for inauguration on September 20, significantly cutting transport costs between the two countries, Mena has reported. The $7.4m road will connect the village of Qastal in southern Egypt to the northern Sudanese city of Halfa, said a senior transport official.
