Egypt's posts 2% increase in exports

Egyptian industry and foreign trade ministry has said the country's exports jumped 5% in December 2012 to EGP11.8bn ($1.8bn), Ahram has reported. Furniture and pharmaceuticals were among the sectors that witnessed a significant increase in 2012 against 2011 as they have reached EGP2bn ($300,000) and EGP2.6bn ($400,000), respectively, the ministry said. Saudi Arabia and Libya took first place on the list of countries importing from Egypt last year as their imports record EGP11.8bn ($1.8bn) and EGP9bn ($1.3bn), respectively, the ministry said.
