EIAST finds place in International Astronautical Federation

The Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology (EIAST) was voted into the International Astronautical Federation during its General Assembly in Naples, Italy, on October 1, 2012.
"This is a proud moment for EIAST which has been working to position Dubai and the UAE as a science and technology development hub among advanced nations. EIAST's entry into the IAF is in recognition of its contributions to space technology and the regional and global applications of its services," said His Excellency Ahmed Al Mansoori Director General of EIAST.
"This milestone will encourage us to further promote the culture of advanced scientific research and technology innovation in the Dubai and the UAE. We will continue to focus on our core goals while working with the global community for the welfare of humanity," said Mona Ahmad Al-Qemzi, Head of project management at EIAST.
EIAST's first satellite mission, DubaiSat-1, has made lasting contributions not only to the region's overall social and economic development but also to the benefit of humanity globally. Following the successful launch of this project in 2009, in a joint effort with South Korea's Satrec Initiative, EIAST is now focused on its second mission, DubaiSat-2.
