- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, January 30 - 2013 at 14:00
The DFM General Index extended its gaining streak to the 5th day Wednesday, closing 1.13% higher at 1,874.02 points. Tailwinds from Asia, where equity indices rose on strong production data from South Korea, helped the Gulf Arab sentiment. Emaar as the most liquid share added 1.46% to reach Dhs4.88. DFM, the only Arab listed bourse, slipped 0.78% to Dhs1.27, despite ongoing robust trading turnover at the Dubai market. Union Properties stabilised at Dhs0.46 (up 0.88%) in volatile trading. Some 352.4m shares were traded, valued at Dhs518.2m.
