- PRESS RELEASE
Etihad Towers Abu Dhabi - the luxury mixed use development by Sheikh Suroor Projects Department (SSPD) in the heart of the UAE capital - is delighted to announce the opening of the UAE Embassy of the Republic of Fiji in its commercial tower.
Today's event follows the opening earlier this year of the French Embassy at Etihad Towers, making the Embassy of the Republic of Fiji the second diplomatic office to open in the prestigious mixed-use development since its launch at the end of 2011. Other high profile Etihad Towers tenants recently announced and opened for business include Booz Allen Hamilton, the global provider of management and technology consulting services, and Samsung Engineering, one of the world's leading engineering, construction and project management companies.
Commenting on the opening of a second Embassy at Etihad Towers, Richard Foulds, Property Manager at Etihad Towers, said: "It is a great honour to welcome the Embassy of The Republic of Fiji to our commercial tower at Etihad Towers, particularly given that it will be Fiji's first occupational representation in the Middle East region - a significant moment for both Fiji and the UAE. They are another highly prestigious addition to our ever-growing commercial profile and to now have two Embassies within our development is testament to our premier commercial and residential offering and our close proximity to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We are delighted to attend today's opening event and be a small part of Fiji's history."
Robin Nair, Fijian Ambassador to the UAE, added: "I am excited about the official opening of the Embassy of Fiji to the UAE by my Prime Minister Commodore Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers. This Embassy will be our first Embassy in the Middle East region. My Government admires and appreciates the political stability of the UAE, the impressive developments that have taken place in the last 40 years, and its foreign policy, especially in regard to small island developing countries. We are proud to be associated with the Etihad Towers development and its management team. Our Chancery and the accommodation for our diplomatic staff are all based in the Etihad Towers complex and we wish to thank Mr. Richard Foulds, Property Manager of Etihad Towers, for the warm hospitality and wise advice that he has given me and my team during our establishment phase."
The Fijian Embassy will occupy an area of more than 126 sqm on level 13 of the commercial tower, in addition to two residential apartments, one as The Residence for the Ambassador and the other for its diplomat staff. The office will offer Diplomatic Chancellery and consular services to the resident Fijians currently working in the UAE.
A fully established integrated lifestyle community, Etihad Towers Abu Dhabi features a choice of world-class residences, prestigious offices, luxury retail, and a 5 star hotel, Jumeirah at Etihad Towers. Commercial tenants have the option of choosing from over 45,000 sqm of leasable space spread over 52 floors at 'Working at Etihad Towers.' With an emphasis on environmental sustainability, ergonomics and the highest specification, the offices can be laid out in a highly flexible manner that best suits the tenant's business. Facilities include on-site underground car parking, professionally managed reception areas, high speed elevators, concierge services and 24/7 security.
