EMC hosts first IT Transformation Day in the UAE

Following the opening keynote, Zaher Haydar, EMC Regional Pre-Sales Manager, Turkey Emerging Africa and Middle East delivered a technology-focused keynote highlighting how various organizations have highly virtualized IT but have yet to re-architect processes to efficiently deliver IT-As-A-Service. This discussion addressed the changes necessary to move to a new model; one which requires IT to transform to an internal service provider, shifting focus from infrastructure cost to business agility.

As part of the IT Transformation Day, a series of 12 technology workshops were also conducted under the themes of IT and Business Transformation.The workshopscovered a number of current topics such as disruptive Data Science - How Data Science and Big Data are Transforming Business, IT and People; Implementing Advanced Security Management; Taking Action on Big Data Using EMC Documentum xCP and Pivotal Labs; Considerations for building Infrastructures for the Post PC era; Accelerating Storage Transformation: VMAX and VPLEX; Readiness of EMC Isilon Scale-out Storage to Transform Business; Delivering higher performance and availability in an Oracle Environment; Transforming SAP Leveraging Cloud & Big Data; Technical Considerations for Transforming Microsoft Applications to the Cloud.
