Eminent psychology professor to keynote at ASIS Middle East 2013

ASIS International, the world's premier association for security professionals, has announced that Prof. Dr. Leonard Yong, Senior Consultant of EuroMaTech Training and Management Consultancy, will be a keynote speaker at ASIS Middle East 2013.
Dr. Yong taught for more than 20 years in University of Malaya before retiring as Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology & Counselling. Professor Yong has extensive cross- cultural experience in consulting and research for agencies and companies in Middle East, Japan, Australia, and the Asian region.
His clients include Petronas, Maybank, Intel, Motorola, Malaysian Ministry of Health, Malaysian Ministry of Women, Family & Community Development, Saudi Arabia Government, Thai Reuters, Kuwait Petroleum Company and Oman PDO.
Based on his pioneering work on the LEONARD Personality Inventory (LPI) & the LPI Software, and its use in helping individuals to develop their Emotional Intelligence (EQ), Professor Yong has conducted seminars and consulted in many countries such as the United States of America, Austria, Britain, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Kuwait, Dubai, Oman, Japan, China, India, Korea, Indonesia, Burma, Singapore, Thailand and Papua New Guinea.
Professor Yong's books include Emotional Excellence In The Workplace, Creativity: A Study of Malaysian Students, The LEONARD Personality Inventory and Gateways to Discovering Your Creativity. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, American Psychotherapy Association, American Counselling Association, the Malaysian Psychological Association & Malaysian Psychotherapy Association. He is the Vice President of the Malaysian Psychotherapy Association.
Dr Yong will also teach a post-conference workshop on Emotional Intelligence. The course is one of the four in-depth post-conference workshops offered by ASIS and organised by training provider EuroMaTech. All courses will be taught by renowned experts in their field over the course of two full days on 20 and 21 February. The topics of these workshops will be:
· Emotional Intelligence.
· International Ship and Port Security (ISPC) Within Oil and Gas.
· Crisis Management and Technological Security for Oil and Gas Security.
· Investigation Techniques.
The ASIS 4th Middle East Security Conference & Exhibition will cover a wide range of security issues in 33 high-level educational sessions divided over 3 parallel tracks.
The conference will also feature:
· 3 keynote presentations;
· Dedicated sessions for Chief Security Officers (CSOs) and their deputies organised by the CSO Roundtable of ASIS International;

On 20 and 21 February ASIS has organised a CPP (Certified Protection Professional) review course. The course will be tutored by board certified security professionals and will offer insight into preparing for and successfully passing the CPP Exam.
