  • United Arab Emirates: Thursday, March 21 - 2013 at 04:36

Emirates Airline has said it needs some $5bn in the year starting April to pay for new aircraft, Bloomberg has reported. The amount will be raised from "a mixture of all the sources we have considered in the past, so commercial bank, operating leases, some export credits," said Emirates' senior vice president for corporate treasury, Brian Jeffery, as the carrier's Islamic bonds listed on Nasdaq Dubai. The airline said it is to take deliveries of 20 planes valued at $4.2bn in 2013.
