Emirates, Airbus to investigate A380 door issue
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, February 18 - 2013 at 04:11
Emirates Airline has denied a media report alleging the door of an Emirates A380 aircraft was opened mid-air, Gulf Today has reported. The UK's Daily Mail said on Saturday that one of the doors of the plane started malfunctioning on flight EK384 on February 11, 2013, between Bangkok and Hong Kong. "At no time during the flight did one of the upper deck doors open. There was also no loss in cabin pressure at any time during the flight," a spokesperson for the Dubai-based carrier said. "The noise from the door was caused by a small dimensional difference between the inflated door seal and the door's lower frame striker plate, when the door is in a closed position. This is currently under investigation in conjunction with Airbus. Emirates has now fixed the problem," the spokesperson said.
