Emirates GBC to highlight green roofing technologies that promote energy efficiency at industry networking event

Emirates Green Building Council (Emirates GBC), an independent forum aimed at conserving the environment by strengthening and promoting green building practices in the UAE, will host a networking event to discuss innovative green roofing solutions that contribute to sustainable built environments, on October 2, 2012 at The Address Dubai Mall hotel in Downtown Dubai.
Adnan Sharafi, Emirates GBC Chairman, said, "There is a growing interest in green roofs which play an integral role in driving energy efficiencies. This has strengthened demand for advanced roof coating technology. Our networking event puts the spotlight on this important aspect that will enable our industry players to further engage with all interested in sustainable built environments leading to the sustainability goals of the UAE. Emirates GBC is committed to providing robust platforms for all stakeholders in the industry supply chain to share best practices."
Green roof system is recognised as a cost-effective roofing solution. It contributes in providing greater thermal performance that improves energy efficiency and living comfort. Dow Chemical Company has decades of experience in developing additives for manufacturing roof coatings and at the networking event participants can gain insights on leveraging this new technology.
The Emirates GBC networking event is open to both members and non-members of the Council.
Emirates GBC regularly hosts and participates in multinational events, conferences and forums. The Emirates GBC has also developed a suite of activities, inclusive of networking events, technical workshops, focus days and facilitated training based around specific issues related to the built-environment that meet the needs of its members, of the UAE community, and the wider Middle East.
